The DNA course is particularly successful because it combines biblical theory with practical outworking. Each student is placed in a host church for the duration of the course. During a typical week they work with the church 4 days a week, study 2 days a week and rest on the remaining day. Throughout the year the students gather together at 2-day training blocks, either at Berlin or Herrnhut. There are three residential training blocks. The February training block takes place in Southern England, when the students will join with the UK students for the week. Students will also attend a 'Kairos' missions training week. Students will be involved in working at Christian festival's such as 'Spring', and be part of a two-week mission to an East European country. During the time that the students are not at training days they will gain practical experience in a variety of areas of Christian ministry. The placement-church and study options can be arranged to emphasise particular interest areas eg youth work, worship.
